This picture reflects my happiest and most memorable experience of my Peace Corps service in East Timor. On an almost nightly basis, the kids from my neighborhood in Manatuto would come over to my porch and we would color, dance, and joke around. It was these times that I felt I was making the biggest impact. These times weren't structured but they provided a time for me to get to know my Timorese neighbors, work on my Tetun, and promote healthy behaviors. The crayons and supplies were all sent by friends and family stateside and they provided hours of entertainment for the kids in my neighborhood and myself.
