This all began early after I started to work for an orphanage as an arts and crafts instructor/ English teacher. I would buy my fruits, cheese, vegetables and bread at the local "piața" or market. In the front by the street sidewalk was also a small flower market. I once took a picture of a woman selling flowers. A few days later I brought the lady a copy of the portrait I took of her as a thank you note for letting me take her portrait. Later, every time I went to the market, everyone wanted me to take their portrait. I became the Piața photographer from then on! I would exchange portraits for flowers, fruits, vegetables and to bring to the orphanage.
