Photo Description	This photo was taken on Christmas Day 1991 from the window of my flat in Bekescsaba. Many volunteers in Hungary found themselves living in a flat in a communist-style block of buildings. I had a furnished, 2-room flat where a large family would have normally lived. Usually the children would sleep in the bedroom (perhaps even with grandparents) and the parents would convert the living room into a bedroom each night. The water heater for the shower was in the shower itself and I remember it blew the bathroom door open each time I turned it on. At least I had hot water!
