Photo Description	This walking suspension bridge near Macenta, Guinea, was made of rope, hand woven from local fibers. The photo dates from 1964. The villagers used the bridge, and travelers in vehicles used a ferry. In the late 1990, the RPCVs of Guinea were meeting with the Guinean Ambassador, and I asked about the bridge. He indicated that the villagers took pride in it and kept it fully operational, even though there was now a bridge across the river. The bridge is substantive in length and structure. He is hard to see, but there is a guy walking across the bridge.
