This young lage in Keta Ghana is working as a vendor at the annual Hogbetsotso Festival which celebrates the Ewe people's escape and arrival in the Volta Region of Ghana. She is offering a mixture of water and sugar flavored with burnt corn. I don't know the actual name of this product. She pours it over the large ice hunk to cool it and collects it with a cup or callabash in the other hand which she hands you. You must drink from the cup and return the cup for the next waiting customer. Not your normal Western hygience standards, but a very good drink and it has a great flavor.
