The newly installed Chief of Winneba in the Western Region of Ghanainitiates teh swearing in ceremony in Winneba on September 18, 1977. Approximately 200 volunteers were sworn in on that day. For those male volunteers wearing a traditional cloth, it is customary to take the cloth off the left shoulder as well when greeting the chief. The man in the blue jacket and time is the Ghana Peace Corps Director. The gentleman wearing the yellow kente cloth is a Ghanian Peace Corps Staffer. The American Ambassodor to Ghana is seated out of sight at the ceremony.
