This photo was taken on May 5th, 2012, during an HIV/AIDS mini-camp at a school in Ukraine. As part of the camp, all of the students had the opportunity to help paint HIV facts and statistics on the benches. Benches are a great way to raise awareness about HIV in Ukraine because they are a popular place for people of all ages to just sit, rest and socialize in every community. This photo shows three high school girls working on one of the benches. After the camp, the benches became part of a AIDS memorial garden in front of the school. We hope that these red ribbon benches will last for generations to come and that our community will become more aware of the HIV epidemic in Ukraine.
