This is a photo from a caravan style publicity parade for an event with the CECOJE (Center for youth counseling and peer education - particularly surrounding health) in Guinea, that my partner organization, Population Services International, and I were supporting/sponsoring. The event later that night showcased everything from hip-hop dances about condom usage, to traditional dances highlighting acceptance and understanding. The CECOJE members wore t-shirts showing public health slogans and the rid ribbon symbol, and along with passing out flyers about the event, passed out condoms. The caravan included Peace Corps Volunteers and CECOJE peer educators, as we traveled around the town on motorcycles, and in a taxi with a large speaker system and generator strapped to it. We stopped in areas around the town and started dance and drumming circles with members of a handicapped dance troop to drum up support and excitement about the event as well as the organizations and their work involved.
