This photo was taken in Kenya near the Peace Corps training town in June 2011. On a trip to collect local foods from the rural farms, Peace Corps trainee, Andrea Flynn-Schneider, ran into these Maasi women carrying food back to their homes. Although they were first hesitant to have their photo taken (Maasi culture generally believes that having your photo taken steals your soul), they agreed. Each woman took turns looking at the photo afterwards and exclaiming how "bad" she looked. It's amazing how similar we all really are.
