May 1989. Crabb Hill Village, Antigua, West Indies (Eastern Caribbean)
My husband took this photo. All of the children came out to see the new Volunteers who just moved into the village. They were very excited, and we were happy for the warm welcome, at least from the children! The adults in the village took a little longer to warm up to us!
As an aside, the motorbike actually belonged to the Volunteer who was preparing for COS and moving out of this house. That was the last motorcycle allowed for Volunteers. After that Volunteer left, Peace Corps banned all use of motorized vehicles for volunteer service, so we used a public "bus" instead.
