Taken in 1990. I worked as a nurse on the island of Antigua, West Indies. I handwashed my white uniforms by first soaking them in soapy bleach water in a 5-gallon bucket overnight before scrubbing them by hand, then placing them in another 5-gallon bucket with clean water for the "rinse cycle!". They were then hung on the clothesline, usually still dripping, and the strong island breezes would dry them and flatten out the wrinkles in no time! If I was fortunate I may even get a second rinse cycle with an afternoon rain shower! I then saved this used water for flushing the toilet.
