Photo Title	Where in the world is Cambodia?
Photo Description	\During the Grade 12 semester exams, there are no classes for the underclassmen. I took this break as an opportunity to do the Peace Corps World Map Project. About 50 students, from grades 10 and 11, worked together to draw and paint the map on the outside wall of the school’s library. I provided the materials and simply facilitated the process. The students came in shifts of 2 hours, starting from 8AM to 4PM, for 4 days to complete the map. They drew the grid, drew the countries, painted the first coat, painted the second coat, and labeled the countries. One of my students (third from the left) came every day to help. He stayed in the pagoda nearby, and with no classes, I guess he had nothing else to do! After the map was finished, the students and I had a World Map Party. We played geography games and sampled food from around the world. They're favorite food was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The least favorite one was cheese. The photo was taken at the end of the party. We took a group photo of all 50 students in front of the map. Then I asked them to point to Cambodia on the map, and the students pictured (Srey Keo, Veasna, Ratha, Raksmey, Kim Meas, Makara, Vanny, Srey Rath, Sreynith, Chet, and Kim Pich) spontaneously arranged themselves. The map on the library building has been very useful for the students and teachers at the school. Many people were surprised at how small Cambodia was, how far away America was, and how much ocean there was. Alternatively, I was surprised at how many of my family and friends didn't know where Cambodia was. My husband's relative thought we were going to Africa! So, in the photo, my students are showing the answer to the photo's title question, "Where in the world is Cambodia?"
