When I put this photo up on facebook to get help in choosing which photos to submit to this contest, someone wrote a comment on this one saying "her whole life is in that room." And while the woman in the corner is not the wife of the man who has died, it is still true. In that room where her deceased husband lays, they have their family photo albums, their china, their nice table, tapestries that have been passed down through the generations, and more. You see, when someone dies in Moldova, they aren't taken to a funeral home like they are in the States (at least where I'm from). Instead, they are left in the home and the burial service is just two days after the death. So, you see, her whole life is in that room: her husband.
