My position as a Co-teacher and Collaborator with a Thai teacher of English is to help her teach and the students learn English. In order to do this Ning (pictured with me) and I started a program called SEED (Speak English Every Day). When the students speak English they are given a ticket. Every Monday tickets are drawn for prizes. At this point (September 2011) the program has been in existence for 15 weeks and is successful. The kids have increased their ability to speak English; but more important, is the fact that other teachers are now interested in having help using English in their classroom. Interestingly, the first week count of tickets was 206, the school number, in the village.
