Photo Title	Celebration!
Photo Description	This photograph was taken in November of 2009, in my first village, a small Bulgarian Muslim community in northeastern Bulgaria. Kurban Bairam is one of the greatest holidays of the year in the Muslim community, and as I was learning about their traditions, customs, and religion, they invited me to their great celebration. I wasn't sure if I could photograph their holiday, but I brought my camera to my neighbor's house, and ultimately they asked me if I wanted to take pictures to send home to the United States. And of course I agreed! The result is a photograph of my best friends, the celebratory slaughter of a ram, and a great deal of respect, peace, happiness, friendship, acceptance, joy, and love!
