In April 2007 I was doing school visits far from the main road in the remote, mountainous Tsatsane Valley (Quthing province, LESOTHO). This orphan boy wandered by the hut where I was overnighting. The neck of his guitar was an old piece of wood and the body was one of WPP's (UN World Food Programme's) cooking oil canisters. He had a blanket over his shoulders and rubber herd boy boots on his feet, clearly one of the children that watched cattle and sheep all day, not in school. He seemed content to stroll and strum.
