Photo Description	Semana Santa (Holy Week) is celebrated all throughout Mexico, from large cities to small pueblitos. Holy Week (Palm Sunday to Easter Saturday), along with the following week of Pascua, is celebrated as a national holiday. On Good Friday of Semana Santa, the Procession of Silence winds through the main part of town in absolute silence, save the slow cadence of a drumbeat. The women seen here in the Procession of Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico carry candles and wear black veils as a sign of mourning for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
