The people seen here are part of large farming family from a small pueblito in Mexico. They go out together to their milpa in the country every Sunday to do whatever is needed to raise maize, peppers, beans, squash, and marigolds (for religious celebrations) on their small area of farmland. Whatever is left after personal consumption is sold in local markets.
As always, there’s as much cooking, eating, laughing and visiting going on as there is working in the fields. The abuelita on the left, always present to supervise the cooking, will have her 100th birthday on January 1!
