I took this photo on June 1, 2011 in the very small village I live in called Sourou, Burkina Faso. My neighbor was going out to the fields to plant crops in preparation to the rainy season. During this season the village seems like a ghost town during the day due to the fact that everyone is out "en brousse" planting crops, preparing the land and cultivating. The women need to prepare for the whole day which means taking along a small meal for breakfast, lunch and those who have small children also go out, which means taking the little ones along.
