A girl in Mexico paused to look at me for a moment while watching a performance at a Caravan de Cultura near the mercado where her mother works. I was enchanted by her posture, intense gaze, and the colors of her turquoise blue dress and silver buckle, black hair and big brown eyes. These events are sponsored by the State of Puebla, Mexico, to bring science and culture to pueblos throughout the state. INAOE, a CONACYT center where I am currently assigned, participates in these events by offering astronomy-related handicrafts to children.
