Boats resting on the sandy banks of the Suriname river when the tide is out. I took the photo one a journey back to my village of Redi Doti (About 2 kilometers down river and 2 kilometers into the jungle) as I waited for a Ferry Boat to take me across the river.
Boats were the only wait to get to me village because the bridge crossing the Suriname river was destroyed 2 years before I arrived. There was one large ferry boat fitted with an outboard motor and there were several small boats.
