No one believed these young people could start a foundation by themselves. Maybe they didn't themselves in the beginning, but they believed in their ability to create fun, alternative things for young people to do besides drinking and doing drugs. This night, these young people of Perechyn, hosted their first event designed to raise awareness about issues they felt were of importance AND raise money. "Kino Under the Wide Open Sky" at the local stadium in Perechyn was a big hit. The equipment was purchased using a SPA grant from Peace Corps. The stadium and electricity was donated by the owner and permission was given to them by the city, albeit with reservations. A year later, the regional administration was calling them to sit in on citywide discussions to plan the future of the town. All they started out to do was have a good time, and so they did! This night 400 people came out, 200 to see the film and 200 to watch us doing something "new and a little crazy."
