The 407-ft suspension bridge over the Zamora River in the Amazonian rain forest of Ecuador's eastern province of Zamora-Chinchipe was completed in 11 months with local volunteer labor, steel cable funded by the Point IV Program of the Alliance for Progress, hardware and cement funded by the Municipality of Zamora, Food for Peace distributed by Franciscan Mission of Zamora, additional labor by soldiers from Jungle Company No.15 of the Ecuadorian Army, and technical assistance, planning, and coordination by PCVs.
