Photo Description	The boy in the picture is celebrating the fire festival in a village surrounding Tamale, the Northern Regional capital of Ghana. The fire festival (Bugum) is observed by Muslims here to mark the landing of prophet Noah's Ark after the flood. It is celebrated in the night with bundles of grass used as torches. The whole town marches with their torches from the chief's palace (where the chief first starts the fire) to a tree on the outskirts of town. The torches are thrown at the tree as a prayer for prosperity in the coming year. The boy in the picture is covered in flour and traditionalist Dagomba artifacts on his way to light his torch.
