I took this photo in mid-1963 at Achimota School, Accra, Ghana, where I was assigned as a secondary school teacher. The occasion was the retirement ceremony for Headmaster Daniel Chapman (identified as Chapman-Nyaho in some recent references, but never so during the time I knew him and his family -- his daughter was one of my students). The girls are doing a traditional dance, possibly one to honor a chief. The building in the background is the school chapel.
