Camp Espoir (Hope) is a camp for kids infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. It is organized in collaboration between Peace Corps and local HIV/AIDS care organizations. At the 2009 centrale camp, each cabin learned how to make something they could sell at the market, what it cost, what to charge, etc. (income- generating activities). On the last full day of camp the kids had a market. Each kid went to the 'bank' (colored bottlecaps represented different coins) and then went to the market to trade and barter the goods they had made. The older girls learned how to make mango and banana jam. In this photo they are selling and trading their jam at their booth at the market.
