I took this picture while visiting a Fellow Volunteer in his village on March 10, 2010. We are standing beside a large stream flowing from the Gambia River, which runs up to his village. The fish he is holding is one caught by a local fisherman. Bombali was once a thriving port village in the Gambia, but since the development of other modes of transportation, the village has somewhat fallen behind, and many rely on fishing as their main source of income and livelihood.
