This photo was taken in Indonesia at the Bung Karno Museum in early May. I shot this photo before I discovered the "dilarang memfoto" sign. Bung Karno, Indonesia's first President, grew up in Blitar, and people pride themselves on the fact that he grew up and attended public schools in the area. Two Indonesian girls, training to become English teachers, joined us on our bike ride to the Bung Karno Museum. They say that if you look at this portrait from a certain angle, you can see where Bung Karno's chest is, that his heart is still beating. It's true. He is still a hero in the eyes of Indonesia.
