I took this photo on May 24th, 2011 in Bulgaria. On this day, Bulgarians celebrate Alphabet Day. In this town, also the site of my pre-service training, children from each school paraded down the city center, each group uniquely celebrating the day. This picture is a few of the girls from the local high school. I do not know their names, but I watched them line up in this formation, all with very straight faces. This look is very common in Bulgaria, especially when pictures are being taken. But, I noticed one girl who couldn't help but laugh and smile, and eventually it became contagious. I've taken many pictures before, but this one has some very telling features, making it one of my favorites.
