Photo Description	My host sister Naima is showing us the henna on her hands. Henna is a ground up leaf that is applied to the hand which dyes the skin for several weeks. The local tradition of Amazigh culture is to apply the henna in solid color and to forego the highly detailed patterns found in other areas. In my rural village, henna is the ultimate beauty treatment and is additionally considered very healthy for the skin.
