The Fulani, or Peuhl, live in villlages and farms of northern and Central Togo. These young women are sedentary, have huts, grow crops, and could potentially attend school whereas other Fulani are completely nomadic. They are holding twin dolls. When a twin is born and the other twin dies, a doll is made for the surviving twin. She can carry it, hold it, feed it, talk to it.
