Carnaval is a major holiday throughout Central and South America and is celebrated in a unique fashion within the Dominican Republic; each region has their own traditions and costumes. Shown is a bearer of the Dominican flag with someone in a costume which represents the traditional La Vega style (short horns and a great deal of feathery detail) and the colors of the country's flag.
