Photo Description	This photo was taken on the Muslim holiday of Eid Al-Fitr, known in Hausa as "Salla" which follows a month of fasting. These girls are from the village of Zongo Mozague, where I was fortunate enough to spend a year of my Peace Corps Niger Service. On this holiday the children, and adults, of the village dress in there best (usually newly hand-tailored) garments and go from house to house greeting each other, eating goat, macaroni, corn pate, etc. and giving the children candy treats. I love this photo because the way the light shines on these girls faces accentuates the fact that they act, and look, like mini-adults: Serious, toughened, and perfectly posed.
