Remains from the slaughter of five sea turtles for the graduation celebration of Neighboring Island Central High School. Sea turtles are an important component, culturally, of the Micronesian diet, especially at ceremonies. This graduation year, 2010, saw the president of the nation (Mr. Emanuel Mori) present for commencement along with several other major members of the government. They came to acknowledge the impressive achievement of the most remote high school in Yap State, which sent eleven students on to collegiate studies, four of whom made it to the national campus and one who joined the inaugural cohort at Chuuk's (another state in the Federated States of Micronesia) first seminary college.
