When I think of Morocco, my country of service, a number of things come to mind, including cats. I have very fond memories of walking through the ancient medias in Morocco and being greeted by street cats. Moroccans have a delicate relationship with cats. While many people are afraid of them, they are loved and respected for their rodent hunting skills, cleanliness, poise and beauty. While they make the perfect subject for a Moroccan Medina photograph, cats are difficult subjects because they move so often, but I love this one because he almost seemed to be posing for the picture as he sits atop the red roof shingles which are common in this city. I also like how you can see the traditional window frames in the background.
