Photo Description	This photo was taken on September 27, 2008 in Koleshino, Macedonia at the First Annual NovoFest. The local municipality of Novo Selo wished to develop their tourist industry during my Peace Corps assignment in their local economic development office. To that end, we developed an idea for and planned an annual festival to celebrate the beautiful natural wonders of the area. The festival, named NovoFest, was an opportunity to share local foods, dance, and music with invited guests for other towns in Macedonia as well as visitors from neighboring Bulgaria and Greece. The Koleshino Waterfall provided the background as the stage filled with dancers in traditional costumes. In efforts to further promote the area as a tourist destination, the municipality developed an anthem with the help of a local artist. In the photo, that local artist opens the festival with his new song, “Piece of Heaven.”
