March 8, 2011. Four Peace Corps Volunteers participating in a day-long celebration of International Women's Day in Madagascar. In this picture, we are singing about AIDS prevention using the popular rhythm of "Waka Waka." Other posters were also displayed to educate the community about Peace Corp's 50th Anniversary ("Celebrating 50 years of Peace and Friendship") and the different types of work women do in the United States. Events included a parade to the local school to plant trees, speeches made by important women in the community, a soccer game between two women's associations, and basketball games between girls from three local schools and two women's associations.
