The women of the village Nereingman, Mota Lava, presented a custom dance during a cultural celebration. Unfortunately, the dance had to take place inside the village meeting house when it started raining. The leader of the group's name is Marian, followed by the Peace Corps Volunteer, Kate. There were 10 women dancing. The women had to borrow woven grass skirts, and so many had to wear regular skirts underneath the ill-fitting woven ones. Traditional custom did not include the woven leaves around the chest, that is a more recent addition to the custom dress.
