The supporting concrete pillars, recently painted red and white in honor of Digicel, a new mobile phone company, give the market a bright home. Rows and rows of tables form lines in along the market floor and in between, rows of coconuts, baskets of yams or bundles of bananas sit for sale. Behind the tables the women spread out mats to sleep. The market is open 24 hours. Each village around the island of Efate has their own day to be in the market.
