Photo Description	This photo was taken in 1979 along a newly planted ridge north of the school house in Aldea La Hacienda. I had planted several hundred pine trees with the school children and their teacher. The teacher made it clear to the children that they should not graze their goats and sheep there anymore which is why you can see tall grass around the trees and bare ground in the background. This was the Forestry/Soil Conservation program sponsored by the Guatemalan forestry ministry, INAFOR.
