Masinloc, Zambales, Philippines - After a morning of information gathering with the fisher families in charge of protecting one of Masinloc's marine protected areas, it was time to prepare for lunch. We had the obligatory rice, recently caught fish, chopped mango salsa, and a pungent onion and tomato salad, but it was decided that this was not enough. I hopped in a boat with it's driver and my counterpart from the Coastal Resource Management Office and headed out to the nearby reefs. In a matter of minutes we had three different varieties of freshly gathered seaweed and now it was time to eat!
