This man is a woodcarver and his name is Gotchoo. The little carved snuff bottle in his hand is one of the most beautifully carved objects I have ever seen-entirely covered with intricate and symbolic carvings. It is used in a little greeting ritual among the Mongolians. It is usually carried by the men in a small silk bag and kept inside the pocket made in the front of their deels. Gotchoo should be a national treasure!
