A long hike up to the stana where George and his family tend the sheep (over 400 of them) for many in the village of Brusturoasa, Romania. He invited myself and a friend to see how that delicious commodity, "branza in coaja de brad", is made. Along with a little thirst-quenching with fresh goat and sheep's milk, some butter tastings, and hot, steamy mamaliga cooked over an open fire by his wife, we chatted all the day about life on the mountain, while he and his fellow shepherds worked their magic. Another priceless day in Peace Corps life.
