Photo Description	This is the first World Map Project Map in what was to become a standard Peace Corps activity worldwide. It is in the school in Hondo Valle, Dominican Republic. Volunteer Barbara Jo White is working with two high school students on the map. It was made Summer, 1988 and is a Mercator Projection map. After December, 1988, the World Map Project switched to Robinson Projection. After the map was completed, Barbara Jo asked the school principal to contribute to its cost. He contributed half the cost and bought a lock for the door of the classroom. We worked on the map for about 2 weeks.
