This photo was taken on the edge of Selenge sum (village) of Bulgan aimag (province) where I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 2002-2004. Selenge sum is also known as "Inget Tolgoi" to Mongolians and just "Inget" to the locals. This photo is of my son, Temuujin Economides, when he was 4 years old. From newborn to 3-years-old, Temuujin had spent his first few years of life experiencing the freedom of Inget. He is now 10 years old and visits his grandmother and uncles in Inget as often as he can. He continues to speak about how free he feels when he is there. The photo was taken on a warm spring day in April (approximately 30 degrees fahrenheit).
