Photo Description	A volunteer works with Family Health Services in Baghlan province in northwestern Afghanistan. Five clinics are operated in the province, and the volunteer spends a day in each a week. Mothers start coming in their sixth month of pregnancy and continue to come until the child is two years old. The mothers are checked, weighed and given oil, dry milk and wheat until the child reaches six months. The food is then transferred to the child in the form of corn, soya and milk. The mothers come in once a month to receive the food and to have the babies weighed. April 1973.
