This Volunteer works in Dahomey teaching school children gardening. He goes to eight schools in the Porto Novo area every week, teaching a few hours in each school. Students learn how to raise crops such as bananas, rice, corn, cotton and peanuts – the local staples for Dahomians. He is also introducing certain European vegetables that will increase food supplies and provide a healthier diet. Here, the Volunteer and the Peace Corps Country Director watch as students work on a compost pit. 1968
