Photo Description	This Volunteer is assigned to the Farmers Organization Authority in Kota Bharu. Traveling by riverboat, motorcycle or train to the interior of Kelantan state, he conducts grassroots surveys-- in the Bahasa Malaysia language-- of farmers in areas where the FOA does not have offices or affiliated coops. He also photographs various government-aided farm projects at all stages of development for use in slide shows illustrating the benefits of coop membership. The aim of his work is to encourage the formation of coops. Here the Volunteer is shown with Malaysian farmers at a vegetable gardening project, checking the progress of young plants and examining them for insect pests.
