This doctor serves as the Peace Corps physician for some 200 Volunteers scattered through the eight islands of the Eastern Caribbean. He was in private practice in El Cerrito, Cal. for 22 years before becoming a Peace Corps doctor. In his work, the doctor must travel extensively, visiting Volunteers to regularly check on their health, to give shots, and to provide the psychological backstopping that a trained, skilled and sensitive doctor is best equipped to do. He spends about half his time on the road.
