I took this picture in Moldova on 6/20/2010. The picture was taken in front of the high school in where kids and teenagers like to hang out and play. The kids on this picture are being creative, showing how funny and interesting they are.
Dancing and sunny Sunday summer afternoons by the river are common pastimes in Moldova. In this photo, two of my host relatives are enjoying dancing to traditional music outside... because dancing is what brings them happiness.
I lived at my site for nine months with only a limited amount of water - 4 to 5 gallons a day. I procured a grant for the money to dig a new well for the family.
Easter is the biggest holiday in Moldova and everyone comes back home to the villages, so they slaughter a pig to have meat for the week-long celebrations. Here are my neighbors, preparing their pig for it's last moments.
